The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option if you’re seeking a robot vacuum and mop that is priced in the middle. It’s a great mopping capability, but it lacks some of the features of its more expensive sibling.
During tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium-pile. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn’t employ LIDAR to map out your home.
1. IRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum black friday vacuum is among the most highly-rated robots. It is a powerful cleaner and plenty of features that include the self-emptying dirt container built into its charging base. This robot can learn your habits for cleaning and suggest automated schedules to give you a truly hands-free cleaning experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can start the automatic cleaning functions at the push of a button. You can select an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as cereal and rice. You can also select two detailed mappings to ensure that your home is thoroughly cleaned.
This robot vacuum is effective on both floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It can take in large objects and doesn’t lose suction as quickly as other models do, and it can even clean up pet hair without much difficulty. It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpets however iRobot says that future models will be better.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which concentrates on improving edge and corner cleaning. It’s the very first Roomba that uses flat-fronted D-shaped designs. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug the furniture and walls. It’s a nice change from the hockey puck-like design of the majority of robovacs. However, we discovered it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also features superior filtration that blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We think this is a nice statement however, it’s not enough to justify a higher price.
Its smart navigation system uses sensors to keep track of the layout of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. It can then clean your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and set up virtual boundary markers, so that it knows to avoid areas that require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those found on more expensive models. And its mopping system is superior as its spinning pads scrub floors more efficiently than an ordinary pad that vibrates.
It’s only downside is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, it’s not a major issue for those who want to own one of the best robot vacuum and mop under $500 robots on the market. The dust tank on the robo-vac is larger than many of its competitors, and filling it up only takes two or three times, even when you’ve got the most dirt.
For the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than high-powered settings, produce minimal noise, meaning you can work or watch TV without being distracted. It will gently bump into a wall or furniture and then move away whenever it comes across one.
What distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it’s designed to function almost completely on its own, with no need for user intervention. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and can automatically transfer garbage into a bin hidden. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app will only inform you when something is not right like the water tank being empty or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to the bin being full.
You can also create and combine rooms to modify the way that Q Revo treats your abode. This feature is useful when you have different flooring in different areas of your house or if you need to regularly remove clutter, such as toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, taking debris from carpets as well as hardwoods on the first pass. It can also remove wet spills, though I recommend drying them with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that comes with all the features you could need. It has an omni-rotating mop as well as a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It is similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has an auto-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a sensor system that recognizes obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling on furniture or other objects.
The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best vacuum and mop combo robot known for Bang & Olufsen products). Although it’s still quite large–it’s more than two feet tall and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds–the entire robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also has a bigger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris, making it easier to empty when required.
The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that is functional even when you’re not at home. It also comes with additional mopping modes as well as a smart routing feature which allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead simply following a predetermined route.
The X2 Omni is the best mopping robot. Its mop pads that rotate clean tough stains and its motor produces a lot of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also outstanding, and it also increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It is equipped with a large, rechargeable battery that lasts up to a week. The mopping feature of the robot is also powerful.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality robot vacuum and mop that comes with a host of convenience features that you aren’t likely to find on robots in this price range. It can make precise floor maps and recognize various flooring types. It’s also among the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are nice however they can push the L10s into the premium category. This might make it more expensive than what homeowners want.
Created to resemble a modern floor cleaner The L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device that has an elegant white finish that’s enhanced by mirror plating and silver elements. The front of the machine is adorned with a large bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner as you move around your home. Sensors are hidden behind the front pane which helps the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the screen, you’ll find one button that basically is a switch for on and off. This button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and transmit it back to its base station. The circular menu at the center of the control panel allows you to select cleaning modes, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open up the app’s settings menu where you can modify how the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to map out your home. This allows the robot to mop and vacuum efficiently without getting stuck. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and identify them, which is an excellent feature for homes with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra is an efficient vacuum cleaner, removing 98.4% debris from our test on hard floors, and removing all but stubborn juice staining. Its mops are also quite efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our wood, tile and carpet tests. However, it wasn’t quite as great at tackling sand on the hard floor and the quaker oats that are on carpet.
