GreenPower Motor Company produces a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which is able to accommodate various upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform’s design is based on a simple sheet of paper, which allows for optimum placement of the battery pack and a lower center of gravity. This leads to better range/payload ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries and catering applications. The refrigerated truck’s class 4 design’s one wall structure in the interior and higher insulation levels compared to traditional trucks allows for seamless sanitation, better temperature control, and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission goods or passenger transportation.
GreenPower joined forces with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will enable fleets to easily transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging at 75 kW.
We were capable of testing the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable to drive for long distances. The EV9 can block road noise and wind while driving on the highway. It rides smoothly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is surprisingly fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking to enable “one pedal driving” by simply lifting the accelerator.
The EV9 provides a large range and can be charged in just three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes – eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode prioritizes torque and cruise control, while the sport mode increases speed and handling. Both modes are enjoyable to drive and provide an unforgettable experience for those who have never experienced driving an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, including a multi-purpose electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit vanpool, bus, green mobility green power mobility reviews, https://aqua-Orchid-g49n79.mystrikingly.com/blog/where-will-green-power-mobility-be-one-year-from-what-is-happening-now, or paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses across the country, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested by Altoona and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA compliant. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its public demonstration tour the coming months. We will be sharing more details on this exciting green electric scooter vehicle.
