Armour is designed to shield animals or people from injury or harm from direct physical attack or a variety of hazards posed by the environment or activities. Historically, the majority of armour was made of fabric or leather, but metal protections were also employed, especially for military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.

There are a variety of ways to upgrade armour but the majority of them require you to visit one of the four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain offers a different degree of improvement and more protection levels requiring more rupees and materials.

The first thing you need to know about Armor Upgrades is that they are upgrades that last forever which means that once they’ve been installed, they can’t be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is recommended to only apply the most advanced upgrades to your equipment and make sure that you have all the components required to complete them.

You can find the upgrades you need in many places around Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. They are typically marked by the blue triangle or gold circle symbol and can be found in great quantities as you progress through. While they might appear randomly, there’s the possibility that acquiring certain upgrade components will lead to an adventure that rewards you with more.

It is important to remember that, Item upgrades even though the level provided by each upgrade may differ but it will always be greater than nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a powerful defense boost that can protect you from all types of attacks including magic. This makes it a powerful weapon for all classes.

Weapons

You can upgrade your guns by using special upgrades that make them truly unique. They can increase the damage, alter the weapon’s stats to cater to your specific build or even unlock new attachments like unique ammo types, enchantments and other options for aesthetics.

You’ll need both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must be at or above a certain point for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons can only take one upgrade at a time.

Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world from enemies or from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are made up of ingredients that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or extra effect when they are in use. They require the equipment to be of a certain level to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same way as other items.

Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to enhance the effectiveness of weapons and improve their ability to scale with other stats. They can be found from enemies dropped in the open world, bought from a few merchants, or obtained as drops in combat.

Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon and an upgrade.

Prioritize upgrading your best-in slot items first. Then, upgrade the items that you won’t replace soon. Upgrade your weapon first, then upgrade your shoulders, chest hands, feet, and hands in case you intend to play in a melee-based build. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on the style you play, certain procs will be more beneficial than others. Similar is the case for Armour and reforges, with some being better than others.

Magic Items

A character can upgrade only one magic item level upgrade at a time. If an upgrade plan is cancelled and the next upgrade for the item won’t begin. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, but can provide other benefits.

A magical item upgrader mod can be any item upgrades that has special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that include armor, shields, cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls, and other items. Certain of these items can be converted into a sentient.

Most magical items can be upgraded to become equipped with additional capabilities. This could make them more beneficial to a player or help them to overcome a difficult situation. A weapon infused with an ingredient that is unique could offer, for instance, an extra level of damage to a particular kind of enemy. This is particularly beneficial for characters who have reached a stage at which they will likely face the same kind of monster in dungeons over and over again.

A ring infused with magic may grant immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon or pierce or slash (excluding attacks that are silvered) until the character is given a second rest. This is particularly useful for combatants who are melee or anyone looking to stay clear of buying an armor.

Some enchanted objects have special powers which allow the character to cast spells that aren’t on their class list. This is beneficial for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items that are enchanted typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use them, and the spell cast is determined by rolling an array of tables determined by the number of Intelligence points used.

Other items that can be enchanted may allow the player to change their appearance, or even create a completely new appearance. These items are especially useful for characters who are forced to leave their home or are located in an area in which they are not welcomed. An item upgrades that is magical can grant them an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone except a chosen person.

Utility Items

Utility items are those that do not fit into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons, and provide a range of different capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons, no one utility item will be in conflict with the other. The majority of utility items have a passive effect that the player can activate when using them, but some have additional abilities that activate when the user presses an action button or activates an ability.

The Flashlight is the most commonly used utility item. It is used to illuminate the surrounding area. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while moving, and the Jetpack, which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. Several useful items can be immediately produced in the Engineering section, while others can be unlocked through Research projects or experimental projects at the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items that are available in the normal inventory, players can also unlock some more useful items of utility by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items can be upgraded to allow more effective use.

The majority of utilitarian items give the player an advantage in navigation or enhance a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, created by an Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils, made by a Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other utility items such as Writs or Theses made by the Scribe can be used to give players either a boost in damage or condition damage.

All XCOM soldiers can be equipped with a useful item at the beginning of the campaign. Eventually, an additional slot is made available through the use of certain types armor or completing engineering, research or other projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows players to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade can be placed in the main slot for grenades.
